A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chief
Femi Falana, on Wednesday in Abuja called for
social justice to bridge the gap between the rich and
the poor in the country.
Falana, who made the call at the ongoing National
Conference, stressed the need to solve the problem
of education, health, unemployment and other
issues that directly affect the common man.
He said the high level of instability was because the
few rich people live affluently and comfortable lives,
while the majority wallow in penury.
According to him, unless the disparity that exists
between them is closed up, Nigeria will continue to
face numerous challenges.
“There are forces of destabilisation in the country
due to the huge gap that exist between the rich and
the poor.
“The disenchanted youths are challenging the
corporate existence of Nigeria,” he said.
He called on the delegates to play their role at the
conference to reposition the country for effective
governance. (NAN)
